In the workshop by senegalese dancer and choreographer Germaine Acogny pros and amateurs gain active insight on contemporary african dance. Yvon Nana-Kouala, dancer of Eszter Salamon is offering a workshop for the local dance scene. Furthermore, you can take part in an electrifying dance workshop by two dancers of the piece «TO DA BONE».
At nearly every show there will be a Q&A after the show at which spectators get to ask questions. And also at the project «Garden State» by the artist group MAMAZA you are invited to participate. Lend us your pot plant and visit the numerous events.

PROGRAMME FOR SCHOOLS & FAMILIES
For younger audiences the Theaterfestival Basel would like to give a more intimate view into its programme with a broad audience development programme.
Over the period of one week the project «Pakman» will be touring the Oberbaselbiet and the Laufental and will make stops at different primary schools. At the weekends the project will be live to see for the whole family in Dornach and Basel.
Likewise, the piece «Oorlog 6+ / Krieg ab 6» is addressed to families and primary schools. For older grades of school there are suiting pieces too, at which there are offered free introductions or guided discussions after the show following previous application.

Public Seminary by Alfred Schlienger

We have compiled selection of five pieces of the programme of Theaterfestival Basel, which show the bandwidth of contemporary theatre and performance especially well. The multi-part course under guidance of theatre critic Alfred Schlienger (NZZ) introduces you to the working practices of artists, sharpens the spectators view und fosters the collective exchange of the works seen.
